BMIC Scheduling Policies for 3T MR Studies
The Bio-Molecular Imaging Center (BMIC) is committed to delivering the best MR services to all investigators in the most efficient manner. MR is a valuable and expensive resource; efficient use of this instrument is essential so that we may provide services in an equitable manner and keep costs from escalating. Therefore, the following scheduling policies will be followed:
SCHEDULING NEW STUDIES
-
All studies must have either a General Project Information Form (PIF) or an Animal Project Information Form (APIF) approved by the BMIC Operations Committee prior to the scheduling of any MR studies.
-
Questions concerning forms, prices and the availability of resources can be addressed to bmic@u.washington.edu or by calling 206-543-3061.
CURRENT INVESTIGATORS
-
A calendar displaying the current MR schedule is available here. Be advised that the most current daily changes may not appear immediately.
-
Scans for approved projects will be scheduled by the Program Coordinator, who can be reached via email at bmic@u.washington.edu.
-
Scans will be handled on a first-come-first-serve basis according to the time stamp on the email.
-
When requesting scans, please include the following in your email:
- The study name
- The complete requested date of the study
- The start and end time of the scan
- Your contact information (name, email, and phone number)
- Subject ID (you must have an ID number to start an MR scan)
- Any other relevant information, such as IV setup requirement
-
For all studies in which subjects receive medications (including MR contrast agents), a licensed physician must be present during the study and for a minimum of 20 minutes after drug administration. As noted in the PIF, study investigators are responsible for arranging physician coverage.
CANCELLATION
-
Cancellation can be made by emailing bmic@u.washington.edu.
