The Imaging Sciences Lecture Series in the UW Department of Radiology features ongoing imaging research both within and without the department. To facilitate translational research opportunities, both basic and clinical investigators present at the same meeting.
Anyone interested in imaging science is welcome to attend this seminar series.

Gaurav K. Goswami, M.D.
"Interventional Investigations in Management of Hepatocellar Carcinoma"
Gaurav K Goswami, MD is an Assistant Professor in the Radiology Department at the University Of
Washington. He has had training both in Surgery and Radiology. He did his residency at New York Medical
College in 2002. In 2003 he did a fellowship in Vascular and Interventional Radiology at Alexandria Hospital, George Washington University. He has been instrumental in the introduction of newer minimally invasive techniques in the management of Cancer and has helped develop the Interventional Oncology program at the University of Washington. He is an attending physician both at the University of Washington Medical Center and Seattle Cancer Care Alliance.
Bensheng Qiu, Ph.D
"Molecular MRI of Stem-Progenitor Cells: Toward in Vivo Monitoring of Stem Cell-Based Gene Therapy"
Dr. Bensheng Qiu is a Research Assistant Professor in the Radiology Department at the University of Washington. His main focus is Image-Guided Bio-Molecular Interventions. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Electronic Engineering, a Master’s Degree in Acoustic Engineering, and a Ph.D. in Computer Science. He was a post-doctorial fellow and an Assistant Professor of Radiology at the PLA General Hospital in China. He did postdoctoral work at Johns Hopkins University. He has conducted research projects on intravascular MRI-guided gene therapy under his supervisor, Dr. Xiaoming Yang. He has received several awards from the Radiology Society of North America and the American Heart Association.
