Dr. Cuevas received his medical degree in 1992 from Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile’s School of Medicine in Santiago, Chile. Dr. Cuevas completed his residency in Santiago, Chile at the Universidad de Chile’s School of Medicine in 2000. After completing his medical training as an Abdominal Imaging Fellow at the University of Washington, Dr. Cuevas joined the staff in June of 2002. He was promoted to Associate Professor in 2012. Dr. Cuevas' main interest is gastrointestinal radiology with special focus on pancreatic and hepatic imaging. Dr. Cuevas coordinates and performs the radiology images review for the Pancreatic Cancer Specialty Clinic at the SCCA and the Liver Tumor Clinic at the UWMC. Dr. Cuevas works in the Hingorani Laboratory at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center where he does pancreatic cancer research and has been recently awarded with an NIH grant to study minimally invasive therapy for pancreatic cystic neoplasms.
