Harborview Medical Center has installed a state of the art Siemens Trio MRI. 3T MRI is the new gold standard in magnetic resonance imaging. The unmatched performance of 3T will allow our University of Washington faculty radiologists to achieve even clearer MRI images of the brain, spine, joints and blood vessels. A number of new sequences, such as Diffusion Tensor Imaging, and advanced functional MRI will be available shortly. The ground breaking design of the new system makes rapid acquisition of whole body images possible, without patient re-positioning. The brand-new system is now functioning in our department. |
