Team Status

Updated weekly, this is a report on what the Radiology Web Services Team is doing.

The Radiology Web Services team aims to provide transparency in its operations.  You can check in at any time to see what we are currently up to, what we have recently completed, and what is on the horizon.  This page is updated weekly, so the information in it is current and topical.

Max Burdge

  • Improving cache-ability of Radiology Website home page
  • Testing and fixing buildout for FSD 2.1.3 Migration
  • Changes to "My Folder" action to allow better caching of SSL pages
  • Updated backup pruning software to keep one backup per week of middle age backup files
  • Explored using Eclipse as a development environment; created documents to support Eclipse installation
  • Planned and tested migration procedures of FacultyStaffDirectory 2.1.3
  • Wrote and tested software to tweak production Database to allow the migration
  • Installed a WIKI to hold information for UW Radiology Developers
  • Wrote MOPs (Method of Operation documents) for upcoming software releases
  • Tagged existing and new software packages to prepare for their release

Mary Giles, and what was she up to in October anyway?

During her part-time hat, covering part of her head for 5-10 hours per week:

  • Training: HMC training for 4 intrepid staff, and at UWMC for 4 more intrepid staff
  • Support: 4.25 weekly hours responding to tickets.
  • FAQs edited & expanded: Default page, Related items, Certificate Authority applications, Events for front page, Global Navigation requests, Anchor links, & more.
  • Formatting the Lil' Manual for New Website Users as a Word doc available upon request.
  • Drew up and began circulating preliminary list (from 2008) of who edits the website for various sections.
  • Content assistance: HR section, streamlining structure and compiling/posting new forms; contacts on Personnel Manager page; inventory of medical Powerpoint lectures, new folder for Citrix Go to Meeting & Go to Webinar.

November: aiming for more site training opportunities, Purchase PATH online Manual editing, adding FAQs (Plone FormGen, uploading CVs, etc.)

Recently Released:

  • New 'Administration' node in the global navigation system to support direct access to important administrative web pages.
  • The Fiscal Accounting System ('My Folder' based reports on FEA/REA/PEA/DEA account status)
  • ePAR Lite, version 1.0

Coming Soon:

  • Upgrade to Faculty/Staff Directory 2.1.3 (currently using v. 2.1.1.2)
  • Intra-Departmental Contact Sheets
    • 'My Folder' will provide new contact information slots visible only to members of the department.
    • Use it to provide information like pager numbers, direct cell and office phone numbers and email addresses that you don't want to be publicly available
    • Expected to arrive during our routine maintenance window Nov. 13 or 14, 2009
  • Section and Department Contact Sheet Downloads
    • Views of personnel listings for sections, groups, centers, clinics will now provide a 'download contact sheet' button
    • Pressing the button will download a group contact sheet which will use information stored in the private contact sheets of each of its members as a CSV file, suitable for import to excel
    • Expected to arrive during our routine maintenance window Nov. 13 or 14, 2009
  • Upgrades to website workflow
    • Add the 'owner' role to the sharing tab, allowing content owners to both view who currently has the role and assign it to others.
    • Change the protected state for content to use the more appropriate 'reader' role for view-only access. 
    • existing content will be migrated so that current permission levels are preserved across this change
    • Expected to arrive during our routine maintenance window Nov. 13 or 14, 2009

 On The Horizon:

  • ePAR Lite v. 2
  • Plone system upgrade v. 3.1.7 -> 3.2.3
  • Eclipse IDE for improved code development
