International Medical Graduates

Does our Department accept applications from International Medical Graduates?

We invite any qualified applicant, irrespective of country of education, to apply to our program.

Please note, however, that because we receive a very large volume of IMG applications and often have difficulty in assessing the records, we limit our interviewing to those who meet the following qualifications: a strong research record (usually in a department of radiology in the United States) with multiple first-authored publications in peer-reviewed journals; excellent letters of recommendation; and scores of 220 on the USMLE.

Applications from IMGs are not considered to be complete until we receive evidence of  ECFMG certification. IMGs may contact the ECFMG for information on the application process.

If you need a visa, please obtain an ECFMG-sponsored "Exchange Visitor" J-1 visa. IMGs may not qualify for H-1b visas.
