AFTER RESIDENCY

Almost all of our residents undertake fellowship training after residency. Fellowships in breast imaging, pediatric radiology, neuroradiology, interventional radiology, and musculoskeletal imaging are most popular among our residents. In recent years, a smaller number of residents have chosen other fields such as cardiopulmonary imaging, abdominal imaging, nuclear medicine, and emergency radiology. All of these programs are available at UW, and in the past five years approximately 70% residents have chosen to continue their training in our department.

Residents have had a wide variety of career options throughout the country, and in recent years approximately 20-25% have chosen an academic practice.
