Educational Goals and Objectives of the University of Washington

Diagnostic Radiology Residency Training

Medical Knowledge and Technical Skills Objectives:

 

1)          To develop the necessary “hands on” and intellectual skills required to perform and correctly interpret a diagnostic vascular ultrasound examination.

 

 

Advanced Rotation (Years III, IV):

Medical Knowledge and Technical Skills Objectives:

 

1. The resident will be introduced to the basics of Ultrasound technology and should be able to perform technically adequate examinations and appropriate diagnosis for all vascular sonographic examinations. 

2. Basic proficiency in gray-scale imaging, pulsed Doppler spectral-analysis, color Doppler imaging, and power Doppler imaging should be attained. 

3. Skills necessary to properly diagnose common vascular pathologies.
