Application Process

Thank you for your interest in the Residency in Nuclear Medicine at the University of Washington School of Medicine.

The following documents are to be submitted along with the application:

•     Curriculum vitae
•     Personal statement
•     Dean’s letter
•     Medical school transcript
•     Three (3) letters of recommendation, including one from your current program director
•     Score report for USMLE Steps 1, 2 (both CK and CS), and 3

IMG applicants, please note the following requirements:

To be eligible for appointment to the program at the NM1 level, residents must have satisfactorily completed:

a) one year of graduate medical education in a program accredited by the ACGME, the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC), or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA). This year must include a minimum of nine months of direct patient care; or alternatively,

b) two or more years of graduate medical education and a passing score on the United States Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) Part 3, with a minimum two-digit score of 80.

To be eligible for appointment to the program at the NM2 level, residents must have completed a program accredited by the ACGME, the RCPSC,or the AOA. The educational program for these residents should be 24 months in length.

To be eligible for appointment to the program at the NM3 level, residents must have completed a program in diagnostic radiology accredited by the ACGME, the RCPSC, or the AOA. The educational program for these residents should be 12 months in length.
