IR Pathway
A career in Vascular and Interventional Radiology demands a greater clinical focus than that provided by a traditional Diagnostic Radiology Residency. To meet the need for tailored training, the UW Diagnostic Radiology Residency offers an Interventional Pathway, separate from the SIR approved Direct Pathway http://www.sirweb.org/fellows-residents-students/DIRECTpathway.shtml.
• There will be 1-2 open positions per year for IR Pathway candidates. All candidates must still match with the Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program at UWMC.
• Interested candidates should apply during R2 or early R3 year
• Diagnostic/Interventional Pathway will be followed by a one year fellowship in VIR
If interested please contact Dr. Todd Kooy, VIR Fellowship Director, tkooy@uw.edu.
