Pediatric Radiology Fellowship

The University of Washington Department of Radiology offers a one year ACGME approved pediatric radiology fellowship.  The department performs over 80,000 radiological examinations annually in all imaging modalities.  The department has 23 faculty and between 7 to 10 resident trainees on rotation.  Fellows are encouraged to be involved in departmental clinical and basic research and to use the facilities of the diagnostic imaging sciences center at the University.  Training is in all aspects of imaging, and the fellow gains expertise in imaging in neonatology, oncology, musculoskeletal disease, neuro sciences, vascular and interventional imaging and chest disease.

-         A copy of your curriculum vitae

-         Three letters of reference

For international medical graduates, visa policy is set by the University of Washington School of Medicine Graduate Medical Education office.  Details of this policy may be found here. In general, J1 visas are considered appropriate for fellowship training.

Educational program

There are three weekly core curriculum conferences directed specifically to imaging audiences and are provided by faculty radiologists, visitors and fellows.

Additional interdepartmental conferences occur on a weekly or monthly basis, to include tumor boards (brain and general), dysplasia, medicine, metabolic, neurology, orthopedic, pulmonary, surgery, urology, vascular anomalies, and rheumatology.  Pediatric radiology fellows are actively included in all conferences.

 

Clinical curriculum

The pediatric radiology fellowship program provides clinical training in all aspects of pediatric fluoroscopy, ultrasound, computed tomography, nuclear medicine, magnetic resonance, plain films and interventional radiology.
