Information about the UW Musculoskeletal Radiology fellowship

General Information

We have filled our MSK Fellowship positions for 2008-2009 and 2009-2010. 

We will begin accepting applications for the MSK Fellowship program for 2010-2011 in July 2008.

ACGME Accreditation: No

Society of Skeletal Radiology Listing: Yes

 

Musculoskeletal Teaching Faculty

Current Fellows

 

Clinical Training Offered

  • Radiography
  • Computed Tomography (CT)
  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
  • Arthrography
  • Imaging-Guided Biopsy
  • Interventional Spine (nerve block, facet injection, etc.)
  • Musculoskeletal Ultrasound

 

Other Features:

  • Outstanding Orthopedic and Rheumatology faculty with strong ties to Radiology
  • Good mix and volume of Sports Medicine, Spine and Tumor MR cases
  • Exceptional orthopedic trauma experience at Harborview Medical Center
  • Regular rotation in spine imaging and intervention
  • Active MSK ultrasound service

Application Procedure:

No applicant will be accepted for training without a personal interview.  Applicants selected for interviews will be contacted via email.

Beginning in July 2008, email your request to Savannah Goodwin, MSK Fellowship Coordinator, via e-mail at savg@u.washington.edu and the application will be sent by return e-mail as a word attachment. 

Your application packet must include:

1. UW Application.
2. A hard copy of your CV (please email a Word attachment version to Savannah as well).
3. Personal statement.
4. Recent signed & dated photograph for identification.
5. Official Medical School Transcript (no copies please).  This may also be sent by your school.

Letters should be sent separately:

6. One letter from your residency Program Director, or current director.
7. Two additional letters of recommendation.

Note: All requested letters should be mailed to Dr. Felix Chew directly, by their authors. 

 

Minimum Requirements:
1. Certification in diagnostic radiology by the American Board of Radiology
 2. Unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Washington

 

Application Deadline: January 31, 2009.  However, we are likely to interview in October, November, and December 2008.
