Negative mammogram. The area of palpable concern is entirely fat density. Thus an ultrasound is not indicated to rule out a mass. If any dense breast tissue had been present in this location, then an ultrasound would be warranted. In general the work-up of any palpable mass should include both a diagnostic mammogram and an ultrasound unless the area is fatty.
