Thank you for your interest in the University of Washington (UW) Breast Imaging Fellowship. We seek to train the next generation of leaders in the subspecialty of breast imaging. Our program, located at the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA) in the heart of downtown Seattle's South Lake Union district, provides comprehensive clinical training in all facets of breast imaging and intervention. In addition, given that the SCCA is a partnership between the University of Washington, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, and Seattle Children's Hospital, our program provides an unparalleled network of potential research collaborators during the fellowship year. The faculty is composed of five full-time physician scientists and one full-time basic scientist, all of whom have obtained extramural grant funding and are leaders in the fields of breast MRI, breast cancer screening/surveillance, health services research, and global health.

The UW Breast Imaging section serves the greater Seattle area through our SCCA breast imaging clinic, satellite screening centers, and mobile screening van. However, all breast imaging faculty and fellows spend 100% of their time at the SCCA, which is located on the same campus as the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. The breast imaging clinic is part of a multi-specialty breast cancer center that is among the best in the nation. Our breast imaging fellows actively participate in resident education and multidisciplinary conferences and are provided ample protected time for scholarly pursuits leading to oral presentations at national meetings and peer-reviewed journal publications.
