Preceptorships
The Body Imaging section offers observational preceptorships in Abdominal Imaging and Cardiac Imaging lasting from one day to four weeks in length. We are able to accommodate one observer at a time or two observers from the same institution.
Abdominal Imaging
We provide the full range of body imaging services, including 1.5 and 3T MR, 64-slice CT and Ultrasound. We also have a separate procedures service which performs image-guided biopsies and interventions. While here, you are welcome to attend any of our regularly-scheduled conferences, including departmental MRI and cardiac lectures as well as a variety of interdepartmental conferences. You may elect to observe the parts of our practice that are of most interest to you, and are welcome to review our large database of examinations at your leisure.
The University of Washington Department of Radiology Body Imaging Section performs abdominal MR, CT, and US imaging at the University of Washington Medical Center, Harborview Medical Center, and the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. All our faculty are specialized, fellowship-trained body imagers with expertise in clinical work, education, and research.
Cardiac Imaging
We provide the full range of cardiac imaging services, including MR evaluation of adult congenital and acquired heart disease (including function, viability, flow analysis, limited coronary MRA, and valvular analysis) and cardiovascular MR angiography, as well as CTA coronary evaluation. Currently we perform 30-40 cardiac MR examinations per month (about 50% of which are adult congenital) and 20-30 coronary CT examinations per month.
We have daily read-out sessions of our cardiac exams. You are welcome to attend our dedicated cardiac MR conference that is held on Tuesday morning, as well as near daily cardiology conferences including Friday morning Grand Rounds. You may elect to observe the parts of our practice that are of most interest to you, and are welcome to review a large database of cardiac MR and CT examinations at your leisure.
The University of Washington Department of Radiology Body Imaging Section performs all cardiac MRI and CT examinations at the University of Washington Medical Center. All our faculty are fellowship-trained body imagers with expertise in clinical work, education, and research.
