Fellowships in the Body Imaging Section

Welcome to the University of Washington Body Imaging Section! Our section has several fellowships programs, including Body Imaging, Cardiothoracic Imaging, and Oncologic Imaging. We are full for 2013-2014. We are currently accepting applications for 2014-2015.

The Body Imaging Fellowship focuses on cross-sectional imaging and intervention in the chest, abdomen, and pelvis. Fellow education focuses on interpretation of CT, MRI, and US, as well as US and CT guided biopsies and other procedures. Fellows rotate at UW Medical Center, Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, Harborview Medical Center, and the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Seattle. All these institutions have nationally and internationally recognized faculty. There are eight ACGME accredited positions.

The Body Imaging of Cancer Fellowship provides extensive experience at the large academic environment of University of Washington Medical Center, with additional focused training at Swedish Cancer Institute and the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance with increased exposure to PET-CT imaging. There are two non-ACGME-accredited positions. This fellowship requires a full Washington Medical license, which in turn is generally available only to trainees who are US or Canadian medical graduates.

The non-ACGME Body Oncology Imaging Fellowship rotates at Seattle Cancer Care Alliance and at UW Medical Center.

If you are interested in a 4-year ABR pathway, please contact Ms. Kelsey Lang by e-mail at kelseyl2@u.washington.edu or by phone at (206) 598-7370. She will be able to provide more information regarding the application process for that program.

Body Imaging no longer sponsors a four-year plan leading to ABR eligibility for foreign medical graduates, but we are happy to consider foreign medical graduates for our individual one-year ACGME accredited fellowships.
